Colusa County Fair was bubblicious: 'Big kid' wins fair contest  June 08, 2008 12:54:00 AM By Katy Sweeny/Appeal-Democrat:   "(A) 64-year-old man who blows watermelon Bubblicious Gum every day won Saturday's Bubble Gum Blowing Contest against eight other adults at the Colusa County Fair.He was one of about 7,000 people at the fair, which featured rides, games, vendors, contests, food and auctions. The fair runs through tonight, said Carolan Ferreria Meek, chief executive officer of the fair.Jim Chatell, the winner and a Colusa resident, said he had to see if he was better at blowing bubbles than his grandkids, whom he gave his remote-control race car prize."I'm just a big kid," Chatell said."

WINCHESTER – The 25th annual Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival continued Sunday afternoon with thousands enjoying wine, song and hot air balloons under clear skies.About 40,000 visitors were expected to attend over the weekend, festival organizers said. The 1970s pop ensemble Ambrosia was among the music acts scheduled Sunday afternoon.

Isleton Crawdad Festival
