North state fun
North state fun: The Endangered Species Fair in Chico on Sat. and the Shasta Damboree in City of Shasta Lake. If you choose Chico, take time to explore the rest of Bidwell Park (the Nature Center in the park is the site for the fair). This park is massive and includes more than 3300 acres of varied terrain. The park stretches from the foothills to the Sacramento River. Visit the park website for more information. Get the 411 on all the festivals at californiafairsandfestivals.com

this weekend
Dixon May Fair, the Petaluma Chili Cook-off, and Desert Tortoise Days are some of the events listed on californiafairsandfestivals.co m for this weekend. The Dixon May Fair was the first fair I worked for and is still one of my favorite venues. If you visit the May Fair, take a side-trip to UC Davis and visit the Whole Earth Festival where you can recharge your good karma! See you there!
